Lydia

Veterinary Assistant

A farm girl raised in northern Michigan, Lydia knew her future would revolve around sound animals from a young age. As a child, she was raised around donkeys, horses, chickens, pigs, and just about every furry/feathered creature you could think of. She was surrounded by the animals her mother loved just as much as her. Lydia loved to follow in her mother’s footsteps and soon learned her love for animals was something unavoidable. As a high school student, she participated in the Northwestern Michigan fair for 5 years, raising cattle and swine. The 4-H experience taught Lydia many things. Not only did it teach her about the health and well-being of animals, but also of responsibility, leadership, and communications.

As Lydia is an adult now, her love for animals and their care has driven her towards a career in veterinary medicine. She is eager to learn as much as she can about all aspects of animal care that Long Lake Animal Hospital provides. Lydia is a gentle spoken, soft-hearted person who tends to hold her emotions back until they are to great, but you can always get her to open up when talking about her cattle and dogs. She was born to work with animals, it’s what makes her the person she is today.
